Elections in India: Rahul Gandhi and Mamata Banerjee want to resign after the worst defeat in election

Congress president Rahul Gandhi has wanted to resign from all the responsibilities of his party.

On the other hand, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also expressed her desire to the party that she too want to step down as the Chief Minister.
Both parties have rejected their offer.

Rahul Gandhi on Saturday said in a working committee meeting that he wants to resign from the party because the defeat of the party.

But the Working Committee dismissed the proposal unanimously, said Congress spokesman Ranadip Sarejewala.
In addition, the Working Committee has been responsible for paving the party over it.
But still Rahul Gandhi is reluctant to resign.

His mother Sonia Gandhi and sister Priyanka Bhadra, left the decision on his hand. They have said that he can make the decision.
